(Rumor of glory)

This song was written during my journey back to faith, it outlines a longing God put in all of us to believe in Him, but we get it twisted, and we become too skeptical and smart for out britches
Something More
Where I come from it don't mean much to say that you believe. where I come from they sell God
from infomercials on TV. They sell that holy water and a cloth they say is blessed. They clame it
heals in the name, putting God to the test.
I wanna believe in something, I wanna believe in something..
More than fairytales and hopeless fantasies, more like bright eyed kids up late on christmas eve,
more than super heroes flying thru the sky, more like all creation singing to you in a starfield lullaby
Where I come they tell the future from the lines on your hands. They call on spirits from beyond
mocking God and fooling man. Tey sell voodoo dolls in shopping malls. They sell crystal dreams
and magic scemes. They read their horoscope and plan their lives according to the stars.
I wanna believe in something, I wanna believe in something..
More than fairytales and hopeless fantasies, more like bright eyed kids up late on christmas eve,
more than super heroes flying thru the sky, more like all creation singing to you in a starfield lullaby
They say that science holds the answer to all life's mysteries, but what does science have to do
with our spirituality?
I wanna believe, I wanna believe in something more
