Memory lane

A big white room a jar full of change an old love letter on the floor an old beat up piano stuck to the wall in front of the door, time sure does have a way of sneaking up when you ain't looking and I keep wondering if I got the right recipe cooking.
I said all my goodbye's I could'nt look back if I tried, now I just sit around wondering what the hell to do.
Seems like it's been a million days swimming through a caramel glaze sticky from the top to the bottom of memory lane.
It must have been a million days walking through a sugar cane maze sweat sugary sweat memory lane.
Telling stupid jokes dodging second hand smoke there's a fine little girl at the bar. Some big drunk fat guy telling me how he's gonna make me a star. I know there's gonna be that one combination of words that'll set me free, I can't write what I can't hear, live what I can't see.
I said all my goodbye's I could'nt look back if I tried, now I'm just sittin round wondering what the hell to do....
Seems like it's been a million days swimming through a caramel glaze sticky from the top to the bottom of memory lane.
It must have been a million days walking through a sugar cane maze sweat sugary sweat memory lane.
Swimming through time on a boat called memory lane......
